One hundred and thirty-two years ago the Museum Café opened as a coffee house and restaurant in Budapest. Guests travel back in time to the 19th century at the Museum Café while still embarking on the gastronomic experience Hungary has to offer. For our starter, we decided to taste the Museum Foretaste which is a foie gras parfait paired with a rose wine loin carpaccio and porcini mushrooms. We continued our meal with the goose and hot cabbage salad, applesauce and mashed potatoes. In the end we relished in a dessert triplet, ideal for those who are incapable of making tough decisions in terms of choosing a dessert. The wine list is well designed, and the pianist playing in the background of the restaurant, further enhanced our pleasurable evening at the one and only Museum Café.
