After last year's fantastic concert, Born of Osiris is preparing for another progressive metal celebration in the Dürer Kert. On 18th May the American band will be joined by Ingested, Entheos and The Voynich Code.
Born of Osiris have released seven albums in their more than 20-year career, and last year Budapest audiences were able to hear their latest album, recorded with their new guitarist. The change of members has not paralyzed the band, as they have already released a new single, In Desolation, after their last concert in Budapest, so fans can be sure to meet new songs now. The huge change in writing style that came with the change of members has been well received by the audience, and the addition of fresh blood to the band has been a good thing. The founding members are still a solid foundation, and the new songs have everything that gave Born of Osiris its essence and made it intensely enjoyable: inhuman vocals, technically dazzling performances, intricate musicianship courtesy of the rhythm section and epic melodies.
Born of Osiris will be accompanied by British death metal band Ingested, who has released their eighth studio album in 2024. The band's latest album, The Tide of Death and Fractured Dreams, is not only as innovative and brutal as the sombre Ashes Lie Still that preceded it, but also showcases a band willing to stretch their creativity without sacrificing the ferocity that has made them one of the most compellingly devastating, technical death bands around. The evening will be further enhanced by American progressive metal band Entheos, a formation of multi-instrumentalist Navene Koperweis and vocalist Chaney Crabb, which has previously featured members of bands such as Animosity, The Faceless and Animals as Leaders. They will be joined on this evening by last year's 10-year-old The Voynich Code. The Portuguese band masterfully blends elements of death metal, deathcore and progressive deathcore to deliver a captivating, unpredictable sound. After their second album 2023, they are planning a new chapter with an even more powerful sound, so it's possible that fans will get a taste of that at the Budapest show.
So if you want a real progressive and death metal celebration, you should visit the Dürer Kert on 18th May, because you will not only hear the well-known tunes of Born Of Osiris, but also meet new promising names of the scene. Tickets go on sale at 11am on 31st January.
