Budapest Airport, part of VINCI Airports’ network, has announced the launch of new Jet2.com flights from Budapest to East Midlands Airport and Newcastle in England. The two new destinations will be added to the airline’s current services to Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds Bradford in the winter schedule, from October 2025, further strengthening tourism between Hungary and the UK.
In the winter schedule, Jet2.com is launching flights to East Midlands Airport and Newcastle, the latter being a brand-new English destination in the Budapest schedule. The two connections will operate from October 2025 to April 2026, in response to the growing demand for flights between Hungary and the UK. With the flights to East Midlands Airport and Newcastle, Jet2.com now offers six UK destinations from Budapest. The flights operating twice a week offer Hungarian passengers the opportunity to take shorter city breaks or explore the English countryside and the area famous for the legend of Robin Hood.
“Budapest Airport’s development strategy focuses on diversification, i.e. building a route network that is as varied as possible, to meet different needs. Jet2.com’s scheduled flights are a perfect fit for this objective,” said Francois Berisot, the chief executive officer of Budapest Airport. He added: “The wide range of services available between the two countries are first and foremost a testament to Hungary’s attractiveness as a tourist destination, responding to the growing demand for inbound tourism, which is expected to grow further in the future, thanks to the new flights.”
