The Sleep Friendly Hotel Awards for this year were presented on the occasion of World Sleep Day at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in Budapest. Honored with this prestigious accolade for their exceptional efforts in crafting an exemplary sleep environment for guests and their unwavering dedication to ensuring quality sleep were the Matild Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Budapest and the Hotel Vinifera Wine&Spa Balatonfüred at Lake Balaton in W Hungary.

    According to the statement released, good sleep is essential for good health. Today, it is part of a desirable lifestyle, just as eating well and exercising are inseparable from people's mental wellbeing.

    As in previous years, this year's World Sleep Day was marked with an exciting international scientific conference at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, organized by the Hungarian Sleep Association, where the keynote speakers explored the question of how we can sleep better. In addition to the presentations, the Sleep Friendly Awards were also presented, with Matild Palace being one of the winners in the category of Sleep Friendly Hotel.

     This prestigious recognition is bestowed upon only two hotels in Hungary annually, one in the countryside and one in the capital. The awards were presented on 13 March by the leaders of the Sleep Friendly Program, the Hungarian Sleep Association, the and the Hungarian Hotels and Restaurants Association.    

    The Sleep Friendly Hotel is a certification of accommodation that meets the highest standards in the field of sleep culture, by sleep doctors, health and lifestyle professionals and experts with extensive experience in the hotel industry. The criteria are a multi-faceted assessment of the conditions for restful sleep, including the quality of the basic facilities in the rooms, the conditions for restful sleep, the availability of additional facilities and services, the condition of the facilities, their cleanliness, the information provided to guests, the measurement of satisfaction and the handling of complaints.
