The Panorama Terrace of the Money Museum in Budapest attracted 10,000 visitors in the first month after its opening, the museum told MTI on Thursday.
According to the statement, the exceptionally high number of visitors was also helped by the audience of the Night of Museums, when about 3,000 visitors were welcomed.
As they recall, the new attraction was added to the Money Museum and Visitor Center on June 16. With the terrace, the National Bank of Hungary has given the public an urban experience that has never been open to the public in its almost 100 years of operation.
The opening of the Money Museum's Panorama Terrace is aimed at promoting the spaces of a unique building to a wider audience, the statement said, adding that the first step in this direction was the new temporary exhibition entitled ‘Our century-old value – from skating rink to Money Museum’, which opened in April and focuses on architect Gyula Sándy through the past and present of the property.
The second step, it is reported, is the opening of the property's rooftop terrace looking over Széll Kálmán Square. From here and from the round tower, guests will have the opportunity to view the city from a new perspective. The roof terrace also houses a café.
According to the information, the Money Museum Panorama Terrace, which can be visited free of charge, is open to visitors of the museum for the time being this year. The opening hours will be adjusted to the opening hours of the Money Museum.
According to the press release, it is worth starting the visit with the Money's Way exhibition, then looking down on the city from the Money Museum Panorama Terrace, and then walking to the Wonder Deer statue created by Miklós Gábor Szőke.
