Matild Palace has added another top executive to its management team with the appointment of Burak Cecen as the luxury hotel's new Director of Food & Beverage. The well-traveled professional will be responsible for the high-quality operation of the Spago Budapest by Wolfgang Puck restaurant, Matild Café & Cabaret and The Duchess rooftop bar, in close cooperation with the Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group.
The experienced professional started his career at Swissotel The Bosphorus Istanbul. He has also worked in prestigious hotels around the world, including in Chicago, Mecca, Sydney and Osaka, where he managed the operations of a number of restaurants, bars and venues. For the past 5 years he has been based at Park Hyatt in Shanghai, where he was responsible not only for the luxury hotel but also for the luxury catering of the city.
He wanted to continue his career path in Europe hence his arrival in Budapest. His aim is to make Matild Palace the city's reference point and create an experience for guests that is not just about dining. By inviting internationally renowned professionals and using high-quality ingredients not only from the local area but from around the world
as well he intends to make an impact on Budapest's gastronomic culture. His aim is nothing less than to reform and enrich the gastronomic offer of the capital and to strengthen its bar culture.
"I would like to be the person who helps broaden the local taste in both food and cocktails. I would like to use ingredients from all over the world, offering the city and the community an interesting alternative. This is my vision," said Burak Cecen.
With his international strategic experience in the hotel industry and F&B services, he will contribute significantly to making Matild Palace an excellent choice from a gastronomic perspective for both local guests and international travellers.
