Each night, as of March 16, members of the Budapest Festival Orchestra will give a live chamber music concert called Quarantine soirées for online viewing. Streamed from the BFO's rehearsal studio these concerts are recommended for all music-lovers locked in their homes.
Iván Fischer, Music Director of the BFO says: „This is the time of intimate home listening and chamber music because it would be dangerous to invite a whole symphony orchestra and audiences into a closed space. But we all need music, now more than ever. And chamber music is a treasure house.” BFO appeals to listeners to support musicians of the Quarantine soirées, who lost most of their income by the cancellations of the orchestra concerts. The Quarantine soirées can be seen on our website and on the orchestra's Facebook-page at 19.45 each day as long as chamber music concerts are permitted. Programs of the next few concerts can be seen here.
