Söndörgő is 30 years old, and to celebrate the anniversary they are throwing an extraordinary birthday part Balkan Allnighter - Söndörgő's 30th birthday on 26th April at the Dürer Kert.

    Söndörgő was formed three decades ago, and when the band was born, the current members were just children and they grew up with the band. That's why the 30th birthday is so special. Söndörgő is not only of a musical formation, but also of a family and a community. And what a 30 years it has been!

    The spiritual backbone of Söndörgő is the legendary, 50-year-old band, Vujicsics, which plays authentic southern Slavic folk music and have several Eredics musicians among its members. The Eredics’s sons and nephews became later the musicians of Söndörgő, so they absorbed the music almost with their mother's milk.

    The band has released nine albums to date, their 2014 album Tamburocket was number one on the European World Music Radio charts, was voted 3rd best world music album of the year and was voted album of the year by two UK world music magazines, Songlines and fRoots. Over the years, the band has played in the most prestigious concert halls abroad and is recognised internationally as one of the world's best world music acts.

    In addition, Gyezz, released in 2024, marked another milestone in their career: they reached the top of the World Music Charts Europe, and the album was received great acclaim not only by the world music press, but also by the jazz press. The album is unique not only because of Chris Potter's contribution, but also because of the unique way in which it integrates elements of folk, jazz, classical and modern world music, opening up new avenues for the band on the international scene. The album has also been nominated for consideration for Grammy Award.

    All of this gives Söndörgő plenty reasons to celebrate, and the band is guaranteed to do so with a crazy Balkan party and suprise guests at Balkan Allnighter - 30th birthday of Söndörgő on 26th April in Dürer Kert.
