The third SopronFest will take place between June 1 and 8, with hundreds of events at 75 venues. Timmy Trumpet, Parov Stelar, Worakls, Dub FX, Halott Pénz, Majka, Ákos and Desh will be among the artists performing at the Lővérek area of the town of Sopron, NW Hungary, during the Pentecost weekend.
According to their statement, the theme of this year's SopronFest is happiness, and a significant part of the events and the guests will be looking for answers to the question of what the word means to whom, and how to work successfully on finding and achieving happiness in various situations.
As part of Sopron Gourmet, happiness will be the inspiration for a week of surprises and discounts for festival-goers.
Hungarian writers György Dragomán and Krisztián Nyáry will combine a three-course dinner with a literary evening on the terrace of Deák Restaurant.
Gianni Annoni and Giorgio will celebrate an Italian evening on the terrace of the Kultúrpresszó, followed by a mini-concert by the frontman of Carson Coma. The Harrer Chocolate Workshop will offer tastings and demonstrations every day, and Ákos will talk to his daughter Anna in the Ráspi Restaurant on the evening before his concert on Pentecost Sunday.
Sopron's winemakers will be presenting this year's wine region's offerings throughout the city and at Lőverek, the main venue of SopronFest. And in the vicinity of the Vinodom community wine cellar, the Anyukám Mondta frpm Encs, the Ikon Restaurant from Debrecen and La Téne from Badacsonytomaj will be setting up shop.
Timmy Trumpet, Parov Stelar, Worakls and the Earth, Wind & Fire Experience by Al McKay are the international artists who will be performing at Lőverek from June 6 to 8.
