A second round of call to receive support for the purchase of electric bicycles has started this Monday and lasts till Friday, January 8. The winners of the first stage receive a total of nearly HUF 110 million to purchase more than a thousand such vehicles.
The Ministry of Innovation and Technology (ITM) announced a tender within the framework of the Climate and Nature Conservation Action Plan for the purchase of electrically assisted bicycles to encourage electromobility with a total amount of HUF 1 billion. The first application period in last November was received with great interest and 1,019 applications were given support in a total value of nearly HUF 110 million. The signing of the sponsorship documents and the payment of the subsidies are ongoing. The conditions are the same in the current call: individuals can get discounts on electric-assisted bicycles, primarily to make it easier for them to get to work. The application must be accompanied by proof of employment or income. The support can be provided for up to half of the sale price of the vehicle, up to HUF 90,000 for bicycles with pedal sensors and HUF 150,000 for bicycles with torque sensors. The eligibility of the application is decided upon within 20 working days, and then within another 10 working days, the necessary support document to the winning applicant will be issued via the application portal.
