Even though, in these difficult times, it was almost obvious that there was no chance for Sziget festival this year, organizers waited as long as possible to officially announce the festival’s cancellation. Sziget will return to Budapest in 2022, celebrating the end of a long and painful break in the festival’s history.

“We are waiting for season 2022 like no other festival in our life” – organizers said after their announcement. Tamás Kádár, head organizer of the festival added: after this devastating break of 2 years, Sziget will return with an amazing show to celebrate freedom after the world-shaking coronavirus pandemic.
