Few artists have enjoyed as long and successful a career as Tom Jones, who has been captivating audiences with his timeless hits, talent and charisma for over six decades. His remarkable career has made him one of the greatest singers of all time, selling over 100 million records and remaining a respected and influential figure in the music industry. His hits include It's Not Unusual, What's New Pussycat?, Delilah, Sexbomb and She's a Lady. However, Tom Jones remains a tireless creator, and his 2021 album Surrounded By Time - along with his previous releases Long Lost Suitcase, Spirit In The Room and Praise & Blame - is his most critically acclaimed album, proving that his creativity, voice and performance have not faded over the decades. With Surrounded By Time, he became the oldest male to claim a Number 1 spot on the UK Official Albums Chart with an album of new material
Tom Jones was born in the mining town of Pontypridd in South Wales in 1940. He left school early and worked various odd jobs before starting his career as a member of the local band The Senators, and later formed his own band Tom Jones and the Squires, with whom he performed in local clubs and pubs. From there it was onwards: in the 1960s he signed a contract with London record label Decca Records and it was the start of a successful and varied career. It shows his diversity that over the decases he has worked with iconic artists such as Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Van Morrison, Dolly Parton and Ed Sheeran.
Over the decades, the Welsh artist has been recognised with numerous honours and awards, including a deeply cherished knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II in 2006, multiple BRIT Awards, a Silver Clef Award, the prestigious Music Industry Trusts Award and a Hitmaker Award. Tom Jones is still active in the music industry as a mentor on The Voice, and regularly tours and performs at various broadcasts and charity events. Sir Tom Jones is not only a rock-solid figure in the history of music, but also an active creator today. His career spans musical eras and genres and his legacy is undeniable.
On 28 June, we will once again be part of Tom Jones' magical concert at MVM Dome. Tickets will be first available for registreted Live Nation members from 10am on 19 February, while general on sales starts at 10am on 20 February.
