What exactly is this award?

The “Best of Budapest & Hungary” is an independent certification system, established by Budapest Week Publishing over 32 years ago, with the aim of directing public attention to the best hospitality providers, hotels, and other service businesses in Hungary. The Best of Budapest & Hungary award serves as a benchmark of quality, granted to those Budapest-based and regional service providers who consistently offer high-quality service. Among the winners, you’ll find a large number of four- and five-star hotels and restaurants, categorized by type, as well as other service providers who make everyday life easier and better for locals and visitors alike. Awarded businesses are proud of their recognition – you’ll find our certification displayed at their premises.

After all, who matters more to a service provider than their customers, visitors, and guests? Their opinion is the most valuable – which is why, since 1993, Budapest Week Publishing has been asking its readers and business partners to vote for the very best in Hungary’s hospitality and service industry each year.

Public voting for the Best of Budapest & Hungary 2024 award opens on April 7, 2025, and closes on May 7, 2025. Anyone can vote – you may nominate your favorites in every category and even select multiple businesses within the same category.

When casting your vote, please consider whether your favorite truly offers consistently high-quality service. Would you confidently recommend them to your family, friends, or business partners? If so, you’ll be making the right choice and helping us identify the top performers of 2024 – the winners of the Best of Budapest & Hungary award!

How do we choose the best?

The award is decided each year following both an open public vote and a rigorous editorial selection process conducted by the publisher, across approximately 31 categories.

Winning service providers receive a certificate they can proudly display on their premises, as well as a “Best of Budapest & Hungary” sticker to place on a glass surface, allowing guests to recognize the distinguished quality from afar.
